Infinite capacity for love is great, yet what about other things? A look at times when we need to enforce FINITE capacity in our lives....

Hey Pete,

The timing on your blog post was great! I was remembering the whole being vs. doing thing yesterday and working out some concepts around it - and you beat me to it!

It would seem that you're looking at some things in life quite seriously lately, and if something I've 'said' helps, then I'm glad to be a part of where ever it is you're going!

"rather than just empty the bag so you can fill it again" - brilliant distinction!!!

(thanks for the feedback on the site!)

William, I really like the finite capacity of bags image. And this was a very helpful post for me (particularly following the Great Circle post you commented on). I'm very grateful for it.

It made me realise that I'm carrying too many and filling the ones I have with too much garbage. I think that (rather than just empty the bag so you can fill it again) your challenge to limit the bags and drop one of them has the potential to transform life.

Maybe I need to "go bush" for a while, put down the bags and pick up a fishing rod or a pencil and sketchpad...

I'd be inclined to let it lie... ESPECIALLY if someone has been able to 'knock it out of our hands'. We tend to hang onto things a bit too much at times, so my thought is that if someone can wrench it from my clutches, more power to 'em - if you can take it, I'll let it go! ;)

we all have baggage that we need to put down or at the very least rearrange after prioritizing. Sometimes other people either take it from us, or simply knock it out of our hands through their actions. Then the choice we have is do we let it lie, or do we try to pick it up again?
