		<description>I really don&#039;t think it matters which country you&#039;re in simply because they&#039;re all trying to make sense of things still.

On one side of the argument there are those creating the &quot;stuff&quot; for profit and would like to protect their work. Yet on the other hand, sorry, the world is changing.

I appreciate the fact that there is no simple solution, yet I can&#039;t figure out why the governments are allowing themselves to be pushed off the cliff, knowing that there is going to be a huge uproar and backlash..</description>

		<description>That issue is being discussed in Europe (i.e. European Union, that&#039;s the part I&#039;m affected by) as well (see http://copycrime.org/).

Also under discussion is an extension of patent law which would make many software patents possible which, so far, aren&#039;t valid in Europe. These laws have already proven to be disastrous when passed in the US, so why do people insist on doing something similar here in Europe? (http://www.nosoftwarepatents.com/)
