WARNING: Contains Coarse Language – you’ve been warned, again.

I was bombing around the internet the other day – ok, I bomb around the internet everyday.. Anyways, I was skimming an article on the Dreamhost blog about Ruby on Rails – it piqued my interest because my own hosting account (not Dreamhost) now has Rails available. I’ve heard of Rails, I know it’s a new programming language, but beyond that I’m pretty much in the dark.

So, long story short, Dreamhost was complaining about running Rails on shared servers or something, and they got some feedback from David Heinemeier Hannson, the creator of Ruby on Rails. Now, not being a programmer I checked out some of his other posts and discovered this beauty:

Potty mouths

I’m allergic to people who willingly and without irony use the term “potty mouth” in adult conversation. The notion that a word like fuck can make your brain curl up and cry like a toddler is so pathetically disturbing that it makes my skin crawl. It has the plastic smell of a barbie playhouse and the repressed insecurities of casual friday khakis.

It made my day, to say the least. It is always nice to see people just cut loose and tell it like it is. It’s funny, it’s creative, it’s well written, it has a point, and it’s not a post I would expect to see from a partner at 37Signals. Perhaps I should? I don’t know.
